Privacy
Our privacy commitment
Ikhlaas is built so that we could not collect your data even if we wanted to. There is no account and no server behind it.
Last updated 12 July 2026
What we collect
Nothing. Your tasks, journal entries, prayer log, favourites and settings are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, store or transmit any of it to an external server, because there is no external server to transmit it to.
- Prayer times and settings
- Daily deeds and reminders
- Journal entries
- App preferences
All of the above stays on the device, and only on the device.
Location
To calculate prayer times and the Qibla, the app may ask for your location. It is used only on the device, to do that calculation. It is never transmitted to us.
If you would rather not grant location access, you can search for your city by name instead. That search is the only outbound network request the app makes: it goes to Open-Meteo’s free public geocoding service, carries only the text you typed, and requires no key or account.
Notifications
Notifications remind you of your daily deed, your journal, prayer times and Islamic dates. They are scheduled by your device’s operating system. They are not used for analytics or tracking of any kind.
Permissions the app refuses
The Android build explicitly removes the microphone, external-storage and screen-overlay permissions from its manifest, so the app cannot request them — not even by accident.
Keeping your data safe
Because everything lives on your device, your device’s own security is what protects it. The Android build also disables cloud backup of app data.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. You can erase all of it at any time from Settings → Clear All Data, and uninstalling removes it too.
Because we never collect it, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
App updates
The app may download over-the-air updates from Expo’s update service. Those requests carry only what is needed to serve the right update — the app version and the platform — and never your tasks, journal entries or location.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
